Kids to Parks Day (F)
Explore & play in nature on Kids to Parks Day! Kids to Parks Day is a nationally celebrated day of outdoor play designed to connect kids and families with their local, state, and national parks. On this day, events are hosted across the country that promote discovery and exploration in the great outdoors. We’re lucky enough to be hosting our own Kids to Parks day with a Student Ambassador from the National Park Trust, Everleigh Murphy!
We’ll be celebrating the day by unveiling our new nature library created in collaboration with Everleigh! Visitors will be able to create their own nature bookmarks, listen to a nature-themed storytime with Everleigh, and head out on the trails with the new books from the library.
This event is FREE to attend and no registration is required. This program is open to all ages including families and children.
About Everleigh: Hi, I’m Everleigh! I’m thrilled to be a Student Ambassador for the National Park Trust. I love spending time outdoors and want to encourage other kids to get outside in the natural world! I am ten years old and in the 5th Grade. One of my favorite things to do is to add stamps to my National Parks Passport and to complete Junior Ranger Badges to become a Junior Ranger when I visit somewhere new. I want to teach other kids about the benefits of visiting national parks, state parks, and local parks as well as cultural and historical parks and monuments! You can follow my nature adventures on Instagram @natureparkkid or read my blog on the National Park Trust website here.
About the National Park Trust Youth Leadership Program: Through this program, students connect others to parks in their communities and help promote the National Park Trust mission– to preserve parks today and develop park stewards for tomorrow. Student ambassadors select parks to explore, including one local park, then share their experiences to inspire others to get outdoors and become stewards of the land. Kids to Parks Day is organized by the National Park Trust with the mission to foster future outdoor enthusiasts and help develop the next generation of park stewards by engaging kids in memorable outdoor experiences.
Thank you to the National Park Trust for sponsoring our Kids to Parks Day!
