Volunteering

Here at Blandford, we’re always in need of helping hands! Whether it’s pulling invasive plant species along one of Blandford’s beautiful trails, tending to the Wildlife Ambassadors that call Blandford home, or teaching today’s youth about the wonders of nature through our Community Programs, volunteers are highly valued as an integral part of our success.

Looking to get involved? Blandford has many opportunities and we would love to help you find something that matches your interests, skills, and availability. Please view our volunteer opportunities below:

Registered Volunteers

This option is for individuals who are interested in becoming part of our crew on a weekly or monthly basis! To become a registered volunteer, you must complete the 3-Step Volunteer Process (Application, Background Checks, & Orientation) below:

Step 1: Volunteer Application

Step 2: Background Checks

Step 3: Volunteer Introduction

As a registered volunteer, you are able to determine when you’d like to volunteer and for which departments, projects, or events. See our department options below for an idea of what you can help out with at Blandford:

You can also sign-up for a few of our upcoming volunteer opportunities on our Community Calendar. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact our Volunteer Manager at volunteer@blandfordnaturecenter.org or 616-735-6240 ext. 104.

Public Volunteers

This volunteer option is for individuals that would like to volunteer without becoming a registered volunteer! This is ideal for those who want to volunteer during our festivals, Eco-Stewardship Work Days, or Farm Work Days.

A Volunteer Application does not need to be completed, and you are not required to attend an orientation as a public volunteer. However, you will still be required to sign a Liability Waiver for all volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in volunteering at any of our smaller, more intimate Community Programs, you are required to fill out an application and pass a background check.
