Seasonal Camps

Start a wild adventure at one of Blandford's Camps!

2022 SUMMER DAY CAMP IS NOW SOLD OUT!

At this time, we do not intend to open up additional camps or additional spots due to returning to full capacity under our state licensing requirements. If the camps you were hoping to register for are sold out, you can still register for a spot on the waitlist! To register for a spot on the waitlist, please go through the normal registration process. You will not be charged a registration fee when being placed on the waitlist. If a spot opens up, and you are at the top of the waitlist, you will be notified by email and prompted to pay your registration fee. Please let us know if you are no longer interested, and we will move onto the next person on the waitlist.

2022 Camp Safety Protocols

In an effort to keep our campers, their families, and our staff and volunteers as safe as possible this summer, the vast majority of our COVID-19 protocols from 2021 will remain in place for 2022.  A few adjustments have been made based on our experience from 2021 and the shifting nature of the pandemic. As always, the health and safety of our campers remains of the utmost priority.

All campers, volunteers, and staff will be REQUIRED to be FULLY VACCINATED prior to the start of camp. The ONLY exception will be our Nature Buds campers that are not yet old enough to receive the vaccine at this time. Proof of vaccination will need to be submitted upon registration.

This protocol will allow us to return to a much more “normal” looking season where we can relax many extraneous protocols that require a larger staff, time commitment, and resource reserve. With the requirement of vaccines we are able to restore Nature Buds camps, before and after care, favorite camp themes, and offsite camp trips. MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED WHEN INDOORS for all campers, staff, and volunteers or, in rare cases, in close-contact scenarios when outdoors to ensure the safety of all participants. Please refer to our Summer Camp Information Guide and Proof of Vaccination Requirement FAQs below for more information.

Please reach out to our Camp Manager, Mary Rose, with any questions or concerns at camp@blandfordnaturecenter.org or (616) 735-6240.

Why are you requiring proof of vaccination for all campers, camp volunteers, and camp staff?
The mission of summer day camp is to allow campers the space to develop close relationships, explore their interests, and test their boundaries. When there are constraints on their social and emotional well-being they are not allowed to be their full selves in a “normal” camp situation and form these important and potentially life-long connections. This protocol will allow us to return to a much more “normal” looking summer camp season where we can relax many extraneous protocols that require a larger staff, time commitment, and resource reserve. With the requirement of vaccines, we are able to restore Nature Buds camps, before and after care, favorite camp themes, and offsite camp trips.

Who is exempt from the proof of vaccination requirement?
The only camp exemption will be for Nature Bud campers that are not yet old enough to be eligible to receive the COVID vaccine at this time. Blandford has reasonable accommodations available to those who are medically or religiously exempt from the COVID vaccine. These accommodations include alternative programming such as family community programs and wildlife care experiences. Please click here for our alternate program schedule. Additionally, our Visitor Center is open to visitors Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and our trails and grounds are open to visitors daily from dawn until dusk.

What other methods are you using to reduce the spread and infection of COVID-19 at Summer Day Camp?
Blandford’s summer camp is utilizing a layered mitigation strategy that includes mask requirements when indoors, social distancing when possible, outdoor programming whenever possible, and frequent sanitization methods.

I registered for camp, now how do I submit proof of vaccination for my camper?
Proof of vaccination will need to be submitted at least 1 week prior to the beginning of your camper(s)’ first session. Proof of vaccination will be submitted via email at camp@blandfordnaturecenter.org. Please scan or take a photo of your camper’s vaccination card and attach it to the email.
