Beginner’s Ink Drawing with Solstice Handmade: Creepy Crawlies

Join Dayna Walton of Solstice Handmade for this all-levels class and explore the basics of drawing with pen and ink! Beginners are welcome, there is no experience necessary. Experienced artists are sure to learn a different approach and some new tips. We will cover drawing techniques such as stroke, mark-making, and proportion techniques, then apply them to capture accurate life-like drawings of insects. We will also chat about identifying characteristics and the anatomy of common insects found around us – especially those that we can see signs of during the winter months. All materials will be supplied!

Member Adult or Teen: $30
Non-Member Adult or Teen: $36

This program is for adults and teens, ages 13 and up. Teens must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Please Note: This program will be held entirely indoors. All participants will be required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status.

COVID-19 Information: As of August 23, 2021, in accordance with guidance from the CDC and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Blandford Nature Center requires all staff, visitors, and program participants ages 2 and up to wear masks while inside all buildings, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are also required indoors and outdoors for all guests participating in a mixed-age community program where attendees are from multiple households and social distancing cannot be maintained. If you or someone you are registering for a program cannot medically tolerate a mask, you must contact our Program Manager prior to booking a program to discuss your options.
