We’ll begin with a 1 hour lecture covering the basic terms, types, habitats, and physical characteristics of our local fungi. Heading outside, we’ll spend 1.5 hours utilizing our newly acquired knowledge to search for and identify mushrooms and the characteristics needed to accurately describe, discuss, and identify them. Throughout the class we’ll discuss the importance of using the scientific names when studying or discussing fungi, as well as how to identify toxic fungi, how to best prepare and consume wild mushrooms, and more! This spring class will have a focus on morels!
