SOLD OUT: Mini Maple Event (Session 2)

It’s maple syrup season! Join us for a fun event highlighted by a guided tour of our Sugarbush Trail. You’ll learn to identify the unique characteristics of a Sugar Maple tree and learn how to tap one. We’ll explore historic pioneer and Native American sugaring techniques and end the tour with a demonstration peering into Blandford’s Sugarhouse! This fun-filled morning will also include a wildlife presentation, blacksmith demonstrations, a take-home craft and a complimentary donut & warm beverage.

This is a ticketed event with specific tours and wildlife show times for participants. You will be required to attend the Sugarbush Tour and Wildlife Presentation times you purchase. Please see your session times and details below:

Group 2

10am – 10:30am | Wildlife Presentation
Wildlife presentations will include 30 participants inside the auditorium. The show will begin on time, so please plan to arrive a little early.

10:30am – 11:30am | Free Time
Free time to do crafts in the Schoolhouse or Learning Lab, watch a live blacksmith demonstration in the forge, enjoy a hot coffee or hot cocoa and donut while watching a puppet show in the schoolyard, visit our Wildlife Ambassadors in the Wildlife Education Center, and check out our Gift Shop in the Mary Jane Dockeray Visitor Center where we’ll be selling Blandford Maple Syrup, maple candies and more!

Only 15 participants will be allowed in the various Historical Buildings and Visitor Center at a time to allow for social distancing between families. The same crafts will be taking place in both the Learning Lab and the Schoolhouse. If one building is at capacity, there should be room available in the other buildings at that time.

11:30am – 12:30pm | Sugarbush Tour
This tour will take place outdoors. Participants will be required to hike along an uneven, mulched or snowy trail. The tour will begin on time, so please plan to arrive a little early.

*Please keep in mind you may only attend your ticketed Sugarbush Tour and Wildlife Presentation times. If for any reason you are unable to make it to your ticketed time slots, you will not be able to join other times slots.

Non-Member Adult or Child: $16
2 and Under: Free (REGISTRATION NOT REQUIRED)

This program is intended for all ages, including families and children. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Please Note: This program will take place indoors and outdoors. All participants will be required to wear masks for indoor portions of the program and outdoors when/if social distancing between groups is not possible. In the event of severe weather, the program will be canceled and participants will be notified of their refund options.
