Native Garden Work Day
Are you looking to get your hands dirty and connect with the Earth? Come help us plant in our new native garden!
Over the past year we have been creating a new native garden around our Mary Jane Dockeray Visitor Center, Environmental Education Center and Learning Lab at the main campus. Hundreds of native flowers, shrubs and grasses have been planted in these new gardens and we need your help to finish planting the rest!
Where to meet: Blandford Nature Center, 1715 Hillburn Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504
What to wear: Clothes and shoes that can get dirty and possibly muddy. Dress for the weather! This is an outdoor volunteer opportunity and will take place rain or shine.
What to bring: Bring your own gardening gloves and a water bottle.
This is a Public Volunteer Opportunity. This opportunity is for people ages 14 . If you are under the age of 16, YOU MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
– If you or anyone in your household is experiencing Covid-like symptoms, please stay home.
– If you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive or is awaiting test results for Covid, please stay home.
– Masks are mandatory covering both the mouth and nose even while volunteering outdoors.
-You will be asked to sign off on a Health Affirmation Waiver upon arrival.
